Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre is to become a bingo hall during July

A bingo hall makeover is to be given to Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre

A new play is to see a Manchester theatre transformed into a fully licensed bingo hall, with the audience able to join in the bingo fun.

Writing for Bingo Supermarket, Jayne Wilson explains that the producers of Everybody Loves A Winner were keen to involve spectators in the atmosphere of a real live bingo hall.

In order to do so, they applied for a bingo licence, allowing them to legally host a real bingo game during performances at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre.

Neil Bartlett, the playwright behind the production, has also visited bingo halls across the north-west in order to ensure an authentic experience, Bingo Supermarket adds.

Audience members joining in the bingo fun - as well as watching the play - can expect their experience to reach an exciting and authentic climax as a real prize is to be awarded to the winner.

However, for those who do not complete the special bingo cards due to be handed out during the show, an evening at the theatre could help to make up for the disappointment.

Everybody Loves A Winner runs throughout July at the Royal Exchange Theatre, with July 16th's performance due to be followed by a discussion session for those keen to learn more about the bingo-inspired show.ADNFCR-2445-ID-19240682-ADNFCR
