UK's luckiest bingo towns revealed

Online bingo players seeking to maximise their chances of success may wish to head to Harrogate.

According to research conducted by galabingo.com, the town saw the highest average win per player over the course of the last year.

The Yorkshire location pipped Exeter and Dudley to the top spot, with these areas coming in second and third positions respectively.

Also making the top ten were Cleveland, Inverness and Portsmouth.

Responding to the findings, online PR manager at galabingo.com Lesley Hall said: "It was really interesting to discover Harrogate is the UK's luckiest town. Who knows what makes the town so lucky, but perhaps it is the magical properties in the water?"

Meanwhile, Mark Eyles, lecturer in computer games and games researcher at the University of Portsmouth, suggested that the places coming out top in the research may have residents who are more technologically aware than those in other towns and cities, the Portsmouth News reports.

He added that there has been a "huge increase" in the number of people playing games on the internet in Britain, with online bingo being one of beneficiaries.
