Online bingo in Italy is up and running again.
Fans of online bingo in Italy - which was launched in the country towards the end of 2009 - can now take part in their favourite pastime once more, as the administrative court in Lazio's decision regarding regulation of the game has been reversed.
It was initially suspended in January following concerns that the decrees controlling the web-based hobby were found to be non-compliant with those required by Italian law, eGaming Review reports.
Lawyer at the Italian office of Lovells Guilio Coraggio noted that this matter has caused "considerable complaints" from smaller bingo operators that stand to lose a number of users to bigger companies.
"Equally, major bingo operators have already borne substantial investments for the launch of online bingo and cannot afford to lose them," he continued.
Now, the administrative Court of Appeal has called for the suspension of the previous decision, which means that online bingo organisations in the country can provide the game at least up until March 23rd, when a verdict will be reached.
The news source recently reported the launch of online bingo in Italy generated a lot of interest from residents, many of whom wanted to play popular Christmas game Tombola on their computers
