Buzzword bingo could be fun.
Fans of bingo may like to take up the art of buzzword bingo, as this can be played any time, anywhere.
According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, those interested in this particular version of the popular numbers game can play it in meetings as a way of tracking the over-utilisation of certain words made by the speaker.
The news source noted that the aim of this form of bingo is to succeed in getting a number of words in succession and then shout "bingo", although doing such a thing during a meeting may have somewhat serious repercussions and players might like to be more surreptitious about how they participate in buzzword bingo.
It was further remarked upon by the publication that "phrases overused in business often lose credibility and fail to motivate or inform listeners", adding: "The last time you delivered a speech, how often did you utter 'synergise' or 'think out of the box'?"
A similar game was recently played during Barack Obama's State of the Union address, during which members of the Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party in the US were poised to hear phrases such as 'banks', 'executive pay', 'freeze' and 'middle class', the Denver Conservative Examiner reported.
