Bingo hall stories recorded in exhibition
A photo exhibition documenting life at a UK bingo hall has gone on display.
The collection of images was being showcased at Stockton Museum Service but has now moved to the town's Mecca Bingo Hall, GazetteLive reports.
Called Full House, the display was partially created by oral history student Leigh Thomas, who spent several months collecting stories from people at the bingo playing centre.
She was joined by photographer Amanda McHale from Cleveland College of Art and Design, whose work is also featured.
Ms McHale remarked: "The 21st century bingo hall isn't just a world away from the worn, weary Victorian theatres and the calls of 'legs eleven' - with coffee shops serving lattes, bright lights, electronic gaming and breakfast menus."
Rather, it is in a completely different universe, she claimed.
Meanwhile, Ms Thomas revealed that she had been attending the bingo hall for a number of years and felt it was time to record the stories of the people who go there.
One bingo hall with a tale to tell recently saw two teenagers try to break in.
The fire brigade had to be called to rescue the pair, who had become stuck after scaling the roof of the venue in Maidstone, Kent Online reported.
