A bingo player recently secured a significant prize during a game in an Eastbourne hall.
Rita Hardy, who won £23,000, said the success has not yet sunk in, Rye and Battle Today reports.
She told the publication: "I don't think it will until I have the cheque and the money is in the bank."
The bingo fan, who is a regular at the hall when she is in the area, is to spend some of the money on her two daughters and will save the rest.
She was staying with one of her children at the time of the win.
Commenting on her reasons for being in the South Downs town of Eastbourne, she said: "I was afraid of my daughter going into labour as she's only got five weeks of her pregnancy to go."
Ms Hardy, who also won a bingo prize of £2,100 more than 25 years ago, has worked as a toilet cleaner, factory worker and potato picker.
Three years ago, she was signed off work through ill-health, so the bingo winnings may well be a welcome boost for her.
