Bingo games help Children In Need
A game of bingo put on as part of a Children In Need Gala Dinner at the Caleta Hotel in Gibraltar has helped raise more than £1,000 for the charity.
According to the Gibraltar Chronicle, the event was put on as part of a programme counting down to the Gibraltar International Boat show 2010, which is scheduled to take place between April 8th and 11th next year.
Bingo players gathered in the hotel to down endless glasses of champagne (while, strangely enough, wearing Blues Brothers-esque sunglasses) and sample delicious food, before participating in dancing, quizzes and - of course - the world's favourite numbers game, bingo.
Charlene Guy from the British Forces Broadcasting Service was designated bingo caller for the evening and soon all pockets and wallets were empty of change, all of it going to a very good cause.
A silent auction was also held, with people bidding on signed memorabilia donated by the Rock's Heroes.
This news comes after students from the University of New Mexico's Anderson School of Management hosted a few rounds of bingo to raise money for breast cancer charity the Susan G Komen Foundation.
