A woman from Scotland has enjoyed a substantial bingo win

A bingo enthusiast from Scotland recently saw her luck come in, collecting prize money of a potentially life-changing amount after securing a bingo win.

The player, who did not wish to be named, was involved in a game at the Edinburgh Meadowbank Gala Bingo club when her numbers came good, Bingo News reports.

She won £41,000 after hitting the High 5 jackpot.

The woman was one of 438 players at the bingo hall, all of whom took home just under £100 for taking part in the game.

Commenting on her unexpected success, she said it did not feel real.

"I still can't believe it's happened - it's like a dream," she told workers at the bingo hall after she made the discovery.

The lucky bingo winner is part of a long tradition of enthusiasts for the game, an article published last month in the Times and Transcript suggested.

According to Greg Weston, while the activity has "come a long way and seen many changes since it first emerged in Europe in the 16th century", its popularity remains undiminished around the world.
