A bingo player has won big in Crawley
A bingo player from the West Sussex town of Crawley had a piece of luck recently when his numbers came up.
Roger Berwick, who has been a fan of the game for more than two decades, had not experienced a big win until recently, thisiscrawley.co.uk reports.
The 61-year-old initially thought that he had secured a prize of £5,000 with a full house.
However, he later found out that he had also hit the jackpot on a game called High 5, which boosted his winnings even further.
It total, Mr Berwick secured £17,500 for his night's efforts at the Gala Bingo Hall in Crawley.
Commenting on the outcome, he said it was "incredible", adding: "I've won smaller amounts before but nothing like this."
He revealed that he still cannot believe what has happened, describing the scenario as dream-like.
Darrell Butler, operations manager at the club, said Mr Berwick is a popular member at the bingo hall.
Earlier this month, fellow bingo fan Rita Hardy won £23,000 while playing the game in Eastbourne during a stay with her daughter, Rye and Battle Today reported.
