A bingo hall is linking with a cancer charity to raise money to pay for care.

A Chester bingo hall has launched £200,000 for a charity to help fund 10,000 hours of home nursing care.

Mecca Bingo has announced a tie-up with Marie Curie Cancer for 2010 and throughout the year customers and workers will be working together to raise money, the Chester Standard reports.

A spokesman for the business noted that the venue is excited to be linking up with the charity.

"I am confident that our customers will help our enthusiastic team members pull out all the stops to reach our target," he added.

Bingo daubers will have to be at the ready as they plan a number of events, according to the news provider.

The information outlet reported that Marie Curie community fundraiser Siobhan Heffernan is confident that the bingo cage will roll enough to secure the requisite amount of money, as their efforts will help a number of terminally ill people.

It was recently suggested that individuals who like to play bingo and smoke should purchase electric cigarettes.

The gadgets contain a mixture of nicotine, water and propylene glycol, but still feel like the real thing.
