Bingo hall break in ends in failure
A recent attempt by two teenagers to break into a bingo hall ended in calamity.
The boy and girl were caught trying to get into the venue in Maidstone over the weekend, Kent Online reports.
After initial attempts to kick a door in failed, the hapless pair took to the roof to see if they could enter the building that way.
Commenting on their behaviour, police inspector Susie Harper described it as "incredibly irresponsible and dangerous", adding that it could have ended "tragically".
Passersby, along with bingo fans queuing to enter the hall, spotted the youngsters as they jumped from roof to roof.
They called the fire brigade after the boy became stuck down a 14-foot gap between the buildings and the girl got trapped behind a locked gate.
The teenagers were subsequently cautioned for criminal damage.
Inspector Harper said she was pleased that a swift resolution was brought to the incident.
This enabled bingo fans to get on with their game, she added.
The bingo hall involved is in Maidstone, which is located south-east of London in Kent.
