An Aberdeen bingo hall is being revamped

A Scottish bingo hall is undergoing some changes.

Bingo fans in Aberdeen may soon be able to take advantage of a revamped bingo hall in the city, as its owners are to sink nearly £2 million into the project.

Owned by Rank Group, the move will see 18 jobs created at the club, which is in Berryden, local news source the Evening Express reports.

This will add to the 40 already working there, after £1.6 million is provided to rework the building and its interiors.

Mark Henderson, general manager of Mecca Bingo - which is making the investment - was quoted as saying: "We are delighted to be investing £1.6 million in Aberdeen and bringing 18 new full and part-time jobs."

Furthermore, an extra two hosts are to be employed at the bingo hall, as opposed to the one caller that was previously used.

Punters at the establishment will also find that table service has been introduced, suggesting that even more time will be freed up to play a few rounds of the game.

Another bingo palace recently underwent a similar renovation, this time in the West Midlands.

Located in Oldbury, the site's revamp cost £1.6 million as well, the Express & Star reported.
