Bingo games in a US town may be on the cards if plans go ahead
Fans of bingo games are lobbying for the opening of a new hall which would enable them to engage in the activity.
If the proposals are given the go-ahead, residents of the US town of Kimberly may have access to the facility within 30 days, the North Jefferson News reports.
During a recent meeting of the town council, a lengthy pitch in favour of the plans was presented.
The bingo hall would be operated by the Community Network Association (CNA), which is responsible for other such halls located in neighbouring areas.
It is though that, should the proposals be approved, a guaranteed $25,000 (£15,114) would be generated each month for the town, which is currently experiencing financial difficulties.
The CNA would pay fees of $100 per month for each electronic bingo machine on the site.
Local councillor Brad Stark said: "It's a lot of money for the Town of Kimberly."
One woman in the US who is not letting age stand in the way of her bingo fun is Bessie Rorebeck.
Despite reaching 100, the avid fan still enjoys settling down to bingo games at the care home she lives in, the Trenton Republican Times reported earlier this month.
