Bingo players raise cash for good causes
A group of bingo fans recently raised money for a good cause while on holiday in the UK.
Vacationers at the Taggs Caravan site in Skegness engaged in the activity in order to generate cash for two separate charities, the Skegness Standard reports.
A total of £7,000 was raised, with half going to Skegness Lifeboat, which is part of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
The crew at the charity is lead by a coxswaine, who is the only member of the team who is employed by the RNLI. The other members are either regular volunteers or part of a rota system which sees individuals take turns to go out to sea in emergencies.
Meanwhile, the other half of the money raised went to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance charity.
As well as a series of bingo nights held at the caravan site, raffles were conducted to generate additional cash.
Another group of bingo fans raising money for charity are 24 Gala Bingo employees, who have climbed to the base camp to take part in the world's highest ever game.
