A show aimed at bingo fans was recently staged in a London theatre.
Bingo fans were in their element recently as the Hackney Empire in London staged a drama based on the game.
Called Strictly Bingo, the show ran on September 25th and 26th and entertained audiences with its mix of comedy and drama.
According to a Bingo Hideout blog post by Laura Barber, the show was based on the typical lives and loves of the players and staff at a bingo hall.
The action is centred on a fictional hall in East London called the Majestic.
Encompassing "tension and high drama", the play sees its characters dream of winning jackpots.
Ms Barber said: "The cast of the Strictly Bingo play are all unknown actors taking part in a theatre project so the play will appeal to those that like the earthy quality of productions that have a smaller budget than those put on in the west end."
The Hackney Empire was a fitting venue for the production as it was used as a bingo hall itself for two decades between 1963 and 1984, before returning to its original use as a theatre.
