The game of bingo may help you live longer.
An ardent bingo fan from Eastfield has just celebrated her 102nd birthday with a party put on at the town's community centre.
Nellie Horseman - who is referred to by her friends as "Eastfield's celebrity" because everyone knows about her - welcomed children from local schools to the festivities, all of whom made birthday cards for her, the Scarborough Evening News reports.
Ms Horseman - who still heads out of her house once a week to take part in a few rounds of bingo - was also presented with a bouquet of flowers by Proudfoot's supermarket.
She originally came from Bradford but has lived in Scarborough for 55 years and, according to June Tordoff - who has known her for 52 years - she refuses to go into a home and continues lives on her own.
"We all think it is fantastic that she has made it to 102. She is still doing well," she said.
Perhaps it is the game of bingo that's keeping older folk going. A similar case was recently reported by ABC News regarding a bingo caller from New South Wales - Cecily Gaunson - who turned 100 on New Year's Day.
