A chunk of change from a bingo win has been given to charity

Bingo winner gives cash to charity

One lucky bingo player, who hit the jackpot of £50,000 when her numbers came up, has shown herself to be a bit of a philanthropist by donating a portion of her win to two different charities.

The winner - who has elected to remain anonymous - has signed away £1,000 to both the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, following her victory at her local bingo hall in Buckingham, the Bingo Finder reports.

As well as legs-elevening her way to the major jackpot, she also managed to secure the regular £500 house prize that night. A lucky lady, indeed!

The Bingo Finder was keen to congratulate her on, not only her fortuitousness, but also on her decision to give some of the cash away, saying that it "really warms our bingo-loving hearts".

Other bingo-playing Good Samaritans include the team of 20 players who recently hiked up 17,500 feet to the base camp of Mount Everest in order to raise some money for cancer trust Sue Ryder Care.

They managed to get over £100,000 for the organisation, while winning the world record for the highest game of bingo ever played.
