An attempt to rob a bingo hall in the US has been thwarted by police in the country.
Last week, four men entered the American Legion bingo hall in Birmingham, Alabama, pointing guns at the club's cashier.
After taking money from the venue, the criminals attempted to make their getaway in a Ford Explorer.
However, the thieves were unable to evade the long arm of the law and were picked up 45 minutes later while travelling on an interstate road.
Their arrest was made after the authorities issued a lookout bulletin for the car.
All four of the individuals who took part in the heist were arrested and charged with first degree robbery and a bond was set at £30,000 per suspect.
They ranged in age from 20 to 25 and three of them were said to be local.
One woman who is unlikely to be put off attending bingo halls by the prospect of attempted burglary is 100-year-old Loretta-Mar Bernhardt.
Recently, the Intelligencer reported that she can found playing the game in her local hall at least four times a week.
